Trick Eye Museum

This past weekend I went to the trick eye museum with some of my coworkers.  They have tons of optical illusion paintings that you can take pictures with and it looks like you are in them :)

Dak Galbi!

Dak Galbi is a popular dish in Korea.  It is made by stir-frying marinated diced chicken in a chilli pepper paste based sauce, sliced cabbage, sweet potato, scallions, onions and rice cake together on a hot plate.  It is DELICIOUS. I went with a few friends and we even made some new ones.  You have to take off your shoes before entering and eat on the heated floor, so it was perfect for a cold winter night.

My kiddies are a few of my favorite things..

I thought I should show you pictures of my favorite friends in Korea :) Here are just a few funny snapshots of my Kindergarteners, and older afternoon kids.  They are cute as pie!

 My school is located in a four story building, therefore we do not have access to an outdoor playground.  Instead the children play in what we call the "play gym".  It is like our own personal Chuckie Cheese!  It is probably the best part of the entire day for the kids.  There is nothing sweeter!

 Everyday the children are served a soup or porridge for breakfast at school, and a traditional korean lunch. Below is my class having lunch.  Yum yum!

SANTACON!

As if a foreigner in Korea is not distracting enough, imagine hundreds of them dressed in santa suits.  It was like a giant santa flash mob in Hongdae a few weekends ago and a great way to kick off the holiday season! To add to the insanity we all took the subway and sang christmas carols, SO FUN!

Shopping and Street Food!

Korea has more shopping and street food than you could ever dream of.  A few weekends ago we went to Myeongdong and Namdaemun market.  Myeongdong has an H&M, forever 21, and much more.  Namdaemun market had tons of street vendors and market with all the kitschy Korean treasures you could ever want!

For 1,000 won, almost $1 dollar you could have one of these delicious egg and bread pockets.

Spicy beef broth with congealed cow blood is the perfect hangover cure.  I have yet to try it, I think I will stick to the pounding headache and sleep it off.
